This week started with the new wing open and Faded facing Putricide and 2 new bosses. We are unable to access anything upstairs without clearing the first part so Tuesday raid brought us clearing and free loots. All bosses went down clean and smooth up to Prof. Putricide we then headed from Rotface to the Blood Princes. Since the mechanics allowed us only 15 attempts on both Blood Queen and Putricide it was determined that killing them first would be the logical step. A few attempts on them and we wrapped up the raid week. Wednesday we went straight to the Princes and were happy to claim the kill. Off to putricide we went… we gave several attempts to Putricide then wrapped it up early because of respawns. (anybody other than me miss the 5-6 hour respawn timers?)

Thursday being traditionally our weakest raid day turned out to be SOLID .. a few members had to sell their souls to their wives/girlfriends and negotiate the extra raid time but we happily walked into ICC Thursday with a full raid compliment. I know I personally appreciate those that went out of their way to see us through progression this is a great step for the guild and proved to be what we needed.

The raid started with Putricide and limited attempts left. We had a few bumpy starts some of us were having bad nights (*cough*) but in the end we downed Prof. Putricide in Faded fashion. Renbar took the hit to be the 25th man down (yeah we do better when one of our members dies in the first minute and “watches” the raid) so the other 24 members pulled it together and got the kill. Another server first keeping our tenacious lead as #1 on the server. However, it was noted and i think registered that Renascentia (on alliance) is solid competition and if we want to keep our illustrious title as #1 we should keep our heads straight and bring it 110% to that fight and every fight that follows.

Congratulations to the entire guild and raid team on two new bosses down this week and putting the other bosses in ICC on farm status. We did give the Queen a few attempts and got her down to about 30% we will have her down next week for sure. Finally the guild welcomed back a few wayward members, and added a few new people to our community. Keep up the hard work everyone its paying off!!

Short answer .. 2 of the 3 are down as of Tuesday… though some people like a little more detail so read on.

I don’t know about the rest of the raiders but this content is making me tired. These new fights are work and it really shows how far as a team we have come since the start of ToC. To me it seems it shows that skipping things like H. ToC would make this whole process even more difficult. I cant even begin to imagine guilds that cant kill heroic beasts dealing with these 3 new bosses effectively.

Faded hit this new wing around 8:30 on Tuesday. We saw a lot of lag on gunship but it seemed to clear about halfway through Saurfang. So we continued on to the new wing. The trash alone is no joke, we managed to get through it cleanly to meet our new friends Stinky and Precious. Killing these is what triggers the bosses Rotgut and Festergut (killing those allows you to get to the Professor).

The first boss we were going to take on was Festergut. This fight is indeed a bit of a gear check because of the short enrage timer; but without too many wipes we managed to down him very cleanly. Again these fights are not about stand still pew pew. Coordination as a team is mandatory and the only way to be successful is to have 25 people all on the same page. Faded has really come a long way to do this; perfect we are not but there is significant potential. After Festergut was downed officers wrapped up the raid for the night. Congratulations to the guild for another server first downing this boss in 25m.

Wednesday we took on Rotgut, this is the more difficult of the two bosses and again it requires a TON of coordination. Making sure everyone is accurately doing their part is critical. With a liberal learning curve we ultimately pulled off the kill again a server first. Surprisingly we arent seeing a lot of activity from other guilds on these bosses. These fights are tough and we stopped after Rotgut to get a handle on how to kill professor Prutricide this boss is going to be a bit tougher since we are given a limited number of attempts to be successful and as of Wednesday only 1 guild in the world had killed him in 25 man. Thursday we are going to in and  make some solid attempts on him every raider should make sure they know the fight and are ready to give 110%.

As most people know this wing also opened up the quest bosses for the Legendary. Even though the legendary “fragments” wont drop in this wing determination on who will get the quest items had to be made which also determined who gets the first fragments. Using loot council it was determined that Pronkie will be the first guild member to get the quest items and all the fragments for the legendary mace with Treeantis being the second. Congratulations to these members for this honor!!

Its important to note some of the off  time activities as well. There are a few Faded 10M groups that have successfully killed Rotgut and Festergut. I think the guild runs about 6 different 10M runs, this has helped the guild tremendously and has allowed our community and benched raiders to have some raiding time too.  It is also notable that the secondary 25M run that is done on Saturdays successfully killed all 4 of the first wing bosses. This run is made up of community/raiders (that were benched)/alts the guild as a whole should be proud of this as well since a lot of our peers are having difficulty having 50 different toons clear this content is very impressive.

Faded had a very short raiding week this week because of the holidays. It was determined that we would only truly raid on Tuesday and wing it Wednesday and Thursday. With that in mind officers decided to pack that one raid day FULL of raiding. We started the raid at ICC 25M these 4 bosses are comfortably on farm status. All 4 were down within an hour including invites and buffing; I believe we had a total of 5 people die the entire run.

After loot was distributed we headed over to Mimiron hard mode. As we have discussed before this hard mode stuff is HARD. At this time this was our 2nd raid night attempting hard mode Mimiron after a few wipes we got a little “pep talk” from Nubadin(he didnt actually say the words but essentially it was “pull your heads out your asses”). This apparently made the difference we went back in FOKUS!! and bam Mimiron hard was down. This gave us a total of 3 keys for algalon. This kiss is a server  first in 25M and only 4 guilds have completed Firefighter (the name of the hardmode achievement) on the server in 10M (one of which is us). This accomplishment should not be forgotten cause that is one seriously hard fight; has nothing to do with how fast you dps has everything to do with everyone staying alive.

This however wasnt enough for our raid night.. we had one more person we wanted to visit…….

DUN DUN DUN!!!!!!    Algalon….

I have to give props to our officers personally because they have been dragging bodies through 10M algalon for weeks trying to get everyone to see the fight. In the end this paid off in spades. Nearly everyone in raid had done the fight so knew basically what to do and we took it by storm. This is our very first “hour” of attempting this timed boss and we didnt need the whole hour. After a few wipes getting the feel for the fight we killed him with 18 minutes left on the timer. Faded proudly picked up the realm first kill of 25M algalon (spamming the server) and got the title Celestial Defender and the title Astral Walker (which is the standard title for killing algalon 25).

Everyone involved should be very happy with our accomplishments. Generally the server as a whole were excited for us and sent many congratulations. Everyone that took the time to acknowledge the work it took we thank you in return.

We all buffed our fancy new titles and called it a week for the holidays. Faded and its members wish everyone a safe and happy holiday no matter how you chose to celebrate and look forward to an exciting new year.
